Applying for your LLE license
Once you've passed the exam, the application itself is straightforward. You can do it online at no extra cost, or by mail.
Two ways to apply
Online — CORE licensing system
Apply through the state's CORE online licensing system. There's no additional online-filing fee — you pay the standard application fee and nothing extra for going digital. Usually the fastest route.
By mail
Prefer paper? Download the official LLE application, complete it, and mail it in with your fee and required documents.
The fee

| Renewal | $50, on a two-year (biennial) cycle. |
| If it lapses | Late charges apply, and a reinstatement fee may be required. Confirm the current late/reinstatement amounts with the Board before letting the license expire. |
The $50 initial fee is nonrefundable, so make sure you've confirmed the LLE is accepted where you plan to work — see Requirements & scope — before you file.
What to have ready
Gather these before you start the application so you can finish in one sitting:
- ✓Your passing LLE exam score — you'll attach it to the application.
- ✓A government-issued photo ID.
- ✓A citizenship attestation (as required on the state form).
- ✓Your Social Security number.
- ✓The $50 fee (nonrefundable).
Don't forget the local business tax license
The state LLE and your local business tax license are separate. You'll need both to operate — line up the local license around the same time. Details on Requirements & scope.
